Fourth call for the Oportunidad al talento (Opportunity for Talent) grants of the ONCE Foundation

The grants promote international mobility, specialization, research and compatibility of study and sport.

The ONCE Foundation has called the fourth edition of the Oportunidad al talento grants, aimed at providing support with university studies for young people with disabilities. The call will be open until 3 or 10 October, depending on the type.

Types and requirements

The Oportunidad al talento grants are intended for university students and graduates of Spanish nationality with a legally recognized disability equal to or higher than 33%, in the following types:

  • Grants for transnational mobility: address to bachelor and master’s students that have to be enrolled or pre-registered at any officially recognized university or university institution. Applicants will have to prove knowledge of the language where the course will be taught, providing an official certificate of at least level B2 proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
  • Grants for university master’s degree: be enrolled or pre-registered on a university master’s degree of a Spanish university.
  • Grants for doctoral degree: accredit a bachelor's degree or similar and master’s degree or similar and be enrolled on a doctoral degree programme at a Spanish university.
  • Grants for research: submit a doctoral degree certificate and have a firm offer to conduct research at any university or research centre of recognized prestige.
  • Grants for studies and sport: be enrolled on a bachelor’s degree, an intermediate- or advanced-level training cycle, or postgraduate studies, and accredit membership in a national sports federation and/or sports club or team.

There are also grants for studies promoted by two companies:

  • Grants of ONCE Foundation/INECO for international mobility addressed to bachelor and master’s students for engineering studies. Remunerated traineeship at INECO can be agreed with once the course is finished.
  • Grants of ONCE Foundation/ALCON for students of Health Sciences, Chemistry, Economics and Business and Marketing. international mobility addressed to bachelor and master’s students for engineering studies. Remunerated traineeship at ALCON (Barcelona) can be agreed with once the course is finished.

The aim of the programme is to promote international mobility, specialization in master’s degrees and postgraduate courses, research as a career with doctoral and research grants, and the compatibility of study and sport.

Application

Anyone interested can apply for one of the grants by completing the form available on the ONCE Foundation website. 

Application periods:

  • Applications for mobility grants, master's degree and postgraduate course grants, and study and sport grants must be sent to the ONCE Foundation between 3 July and 3 October. 
  • Applications for doctoral degree and research grants must be sent to the ONCE Foundation between 29 July and 10 October.
  • The provisional decision will be published on 13 November on the ONCE Foundation grants website.
  • A period of 10 calendar days will be given for applicants to submit claims or request additional information, as well as a review of their request, until 13 November.
  • The final decision will be published on 27 November.
