For the investiture of Brenda Gourley, former Vice-Chancellor and President of the Open University, as a doctor honoris causa. She currently chairs The Talloires Network Steering Committee and is a non-executive director of Sage Publishers in the UK. She has also chaired the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Professor Gourley's interests include Higher Education strategy and trends (including the impact of technology), the world of open and distance education, open educational resources, leadership, ethics and the role of universities in their communities.
