The UOC Library has prepared a round-up with links to university, Catalan, Spanish and other catalogues, databases and bodies linked to the career of Dr Guy Haug, European expert in higher education systems, and university assessment and development, to coincide with his giving the UOC inaugural lecture 2011-2012.

Haug is considered one of the founding fathers of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) for his key role in developing the Lisbon Strategy and shaping the Bologna process. He has extensive experience of university leadership, cooperation with international organisations and university networks in Europe and the Americas. He has a master's degree in Law and an MBA, a doctorate in Political Sciences and an honorary degree from the Ireland's Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC).

ANECA is the Spanish national agency whose mission is to improve the quality of the higher education system through evaluation, certification and accreditation. Dr Haug was member of ANECA's Advisory Board for several years.

The Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation which provides outbound international education experiences for university students, faculty, and administrators, and study, work, and internship opportunities. Haug was Vice-President and Director General for Europe of the CIEE between 1991 and 1998.
