Nearly 6,000 students graduated in the academic year 2009-2010
As every year, the graduation ceremonies for UOC students for the academic year 2009-2010 took place in November. In total, 5,751 students obtained a university qualification this year.
The ceremonies were held in Barcelona’s Auditorium and Madrid’s National Auditorium of Music. This year’s patrons for the graduates were journalist Josep Cuní in Barcelona, and the lawyer, economist and writer Eduard Punset in Madrid.
Once they complete their studies, UOC graduates remain linked to the institution through Alumni, the professional and personal development network for UOC graduates.
What is the profile of a UOC graduate?
The UOC currently has 26,290 graduates in more than 60 countries around the world. Of those who study in Spanish, 90% are in work, above all in the services sector; 70% are men, and their average age is between 36 and 45, (though the fact that 10.8% are over 50 also stands out).
Their main reasons for studying a university qualification are that they like studying and want to increase their knowledge. 60% of students choose the UOC because it lets them manage their time. 55% are satisfied and 42% very satisfied when they complete their studies. Likewise, nearly 90% would choose the UOC again if they had to study another degree.
