The Library increases the number of e-books for loan

Last semester, the UOC Virtual Library bought 200 new Leqtor e-book readers. Thus, the Library can now offer 236 devices for loan to members of the UOC community.

These new Leqtor e-book readers are smaller, lighter (they weigh just 178 grams) and easier to carry around. Likewise, they have more storage capacity, their batteries last longer and they can handle documents in different formats (PDF, TXT, ePub or HTML).

Through this initiative, the UOC Library is looking to improve its e-book reader loan service and consolidate its place alongside the rest of the services it offers.

5,800 ebooks for loan

The Library catalogue has also been added to with new resources that can be downloaded to the e-book readers. Specifically, 5,800 e-books have been added to the e-books and UOC teaching materials (in a range of different formats: PDF, Mobipocket, ePub and HTML) already available from the Library.

To request a reader on loan, visit the Library catalogue and search for ‘e-books’, or visit the UOC Library’s e-book website.
