My Materials updated
The My Materials section of the Secretary’s Office on the Virtual Campus has been updated to offer the University’s students an improved service. Highlights of this latest version of the tool include the possibility to access the materials in all languages and the interface’s improved usability.
These updates form part of the second phase of improvements to the tool. Students’ opinions were in gathered in this second phase via the suggestions email address, face-to-face user tests and satisfaction questionnaires.
Up-to-date materials always to hand
The My Materials tool in the Virtual Campus Secretary’s Office ensures that UOC students always have access to the latest version of the teaching materials for the subjects they are enrolled on. Likewise, it also allows them to consult the teaching materials for those subjects they have had recognised or validated.
Students can access the tool whenever they want, even after they have graduated – the University thus supports lifelong learning and the updating of knowledge.
My Materials on the homepage
The My Materials module can also be added to the new My UOC Campus homepage. This module lets students access the materials for the subjects they are enrolled on for that semester quickly and easily.
Evaluation and continuous improvement
The University carried out 15 user tests last semester to evaluate the application’s interface and usability. Over a hundred satisfaction questionnaires were sent out to detect possible improvements and suggestions were collected via the tool itself. As a result, it was possible to prioritise those improvements that needed to be made to the application.
The efforts do not end here, however. Over the coming semester, there are plans in place to start on the third phase of improvements to the tool, with the incorporation of a search function to make accessing the contents even easier.
