The annual Alumni meeting in Madrid a great success

Last semester, Alumni, the network for professional and personal development for the UOC’s graduates, prepared a number of activities, meetings and courses. A highlight from the events organised was the annual meeting in Madrid, under the title The Networked Future, which was attended by Klaus Jürgen Gottschlich, General Manager of eBay Classifieds in Spain.

Gottschlich looked in depth at the keys to succeeding on the web in his lecture entitled Enterprise on the Internet: Opportunities and Pitfalls. He began by speaking about the factors for success and the difficulties entrepreneurs encounter in the virtual market and the importance of losing any fear of failing.

Workshops on social networks and communication

The meeting in Madrid was not the only event organised however. Last semester, Alumni also organised regional meetings in Barcelona, Reus, Palma and Valencia. The association also promoted workshops on social networks and communication, and lectures and talks offering the chance to exchange professional experiences in the specific fields of law and tourism. Likewise, there were also sessions looking at the new emerging professional profiles, what they involve and what skills are needed to develop them successfully and to be ready for the near future in terms of employment.

Over the coming semester, there are a number of Alumni events and meetings planned, where graduates can increase their networks of contacts and gain guidance on different professional sectors directly from the experts.
