New Education and ICT Doctoral Programme

This semester, the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, UOC) is to offer a new Education and ICT (e-learning) doctoral programme. A dozen students have already been admitted and are to start the first edition of this new programme this semester.

The doctoral programme guarantees advanced training for researchers which will allow them to develop their career in the field of research into e-learning. The programme has a period of tutored research that includes courses, seminars and other activities aimed at training them in research.

This new programme has been developed by the eLearn Center (the UOC’s e-learning research, innovation and training centre) and forms part of the research carried out at the centre. The current lines of research at the eLearn Center focus on three fields: teaching and learning processes; educational organisation, management and policies, and technological resources for learning.

The new Education and ICT Doctoral Programme is the UOC’s second such programme. It also offers a doctoral programme in the Information and Knowledge Society.
