The UOC opens a new centre in Tarragona

The UOC’s new regional centre in Tarragona opened its doors on 10 January. The new 123-metre-squared centre will offer an improved setting and service for the University’s students in the Camp de Tarragona area. The official opening will not be held until the second semester of the academic year 2010-2011.

This new centre located on Avinguda Ramón y Cajal, in a former Clarisse convent, will consolidate the University’s presence in the region. The building, which is just in front of the entrance to City Park, is in an ideal location. The new centre substitutes the former UOC Point in Tarragona, opened in 2005 in collaboration with the County Council, and will offer an improved setting and service for students.

Last semester there were 2,641 UOC students from the Tarragona region, 571 of whom lived in the city of Tarragona.
