Eight researchers defend their doctoral theses

Last semester, eight doctoral candidates on the UOC’s Knowledge Society programme defended their theses. This means that 41 students have now been awarded a doctorate since 2000, the year when the UOC’s doctoral programme began.

Ana Elena Guerrero Roldán defended the doctoral thesis entitled L'especificació IMS-LD per a la descripció formal d'itineraris formatius adaptatius. Her research was supervised by Julià Minguillón Alfonso and Josep Prieto Blázquez, from the IT, Multimedia and Telecommunications department.

Joan Melià Seguí defended the doctoral thesis entitled Lightweight PRNG for Low-Cost Passive RFID Security Improvement, which was supervised by Dr Joaquín García Alfaro, from the IT, Multimedia and Telecommunications department, and Dr Jordi Herrera Joancomartí, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

María Cristina López de la Madrid defended the doctoral thesis entitled El cambio en las universidades a partir del uso de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación, which was supervised by Yolanda Gayol, from Mexico’s University of Guadalajara.

José Adolfo Estalella Fernández defended the doctoral thesis entitled Ensamblajes de esperanza. Un anàlisis antropológico del bloguear apasionado, which was supervised by Dr Elisenda Ardèvol Piera and Dr Agnès Vayreda Duran, from the Arts and Humanities department.

Laura Porta Simó defended the doctoral thesis entitled Anàlisi de l'impacte i la repercussió dels recursos multimèdia en l'ensenyament i aprenentatge de la multimèdia en entorns virtuals, which was supervised by Roser Beneito Montagut, lecturer in the IT, Multimedia and Telecommunications department.

Janine Sprünker Cardó defended the doctoral thesis entitled Educació patrimonial mitjançant recursos educatius en línia amb contingut de patrimoni cultural i xarxes d'aprenentatge. Her work was supervised by Glòria Munilla Cabrillana, from the Arts and Humanities department.

Daniel Lázaro Iglesias defended the doctoral thesis entitled Middleware for service deployment in contributory computing systems, which was supervised by Joan Manuel Marquès Puig, from the IT, Multimedia and Telecommunications department.

Finally, Gisela Ammetller Montes defended the doctoral thesis entitled Comportament del consumidor i productes de suport a la creació i al creixement d'empreses: una anàlisi empírica de la conducta de l'emprenedor en espais d'incubació. Her work was supervised by Inma Rodríguez Ardura, from the Economics and Business Studies department, and Josep Lladós Masllorens, director of the IN3’s doctoral programme.
